The second game of a three game road trip and Appalachian’s third conference game of the season sent the Mountaineers to Birmingham, AL. Samford offers a difficult test due to their Princeton-style offense that concentrates on three pointers and backdoor cuts. Samford had very young team and their season was not off to a great start. Appalachian was favored by a half point and my insticts suggested the Mountaineers would claim the victory. Appalachian covered and grabbed their first conference road win of the season 68-63. My record improved to 4-4.
